Forty places, two cars

Fares to read before you reserve: airport transfer rates to MCI per car

Each of the 40 places in the table carries two airport transfer rates to MCI per car, one for a sedan and one for an SUV, each way. The places sit in six service areas, grouped by the road each one takes to the airport. Pick yours, note its figure, and ask for a free quote: the company that would drive you replies in writing with its fixed rate, and nothing is reserved until you say yes.

CE Travel Services is an independently owned booking office in Kansas City. Each figure below opens a range that ends in one car company's fixed rate, written out for your ride; you pay that company, and it pays the office a separate amount for the booking.

Inside the figure for a place

  • The drive between your address and the airport, in whichever direction you ask for
  • Fuel for the whole ride
  • A sedan or SUV for your party alone, with nobody else picked up along the way
  • The waiting time that the written fare names after your flight lands

Lines added only when they apply

  • A gratuity, when a company's rate adds one, as its own line
  • A second stop on the way, priced as its own line
  • Waiting past the time that the written fare names, at the cost the fare states
  • An airport trip fee, where a company adds one to its written fare
  • A child seat, if the company charges for it; bringing your own is fine

Reading the figure beside each place

Each figure in the table is the starting point for a fare from that place for the ride itself, sedan or SUV, per car, each way. Platte City, closest to the airport by road, starts from $105 for a sedan and from $125 for an SUV. Lee's Summit, Grain Valley and Raymore, the three farthest out, start from $175 for a sedan and from $210 for an SUV. Your written fare can be higher than the figure; it names the company's fixed rate for your ride and any extra line before you say yes. The figure covers the whole car however many ride in it, with a sedan seating as many as 3 passengers and an SUV as many as 6.

The written fare is the number that counts for your own ride. It is the company's fixed rate, made out for your place, date, pickup time and car, and it reaches you by email before you say yes. Anything beyond the ride itself stands on a line of its own, so you can drop a line or withdraw the request with nothing owed. Once you accept, the amount stays as written, and the ride is reserved when the company confirms it to you in writing.

Rush hour, bridges and the season

The table lists road miles and quiet-hour minutes so you can plan a pickup time; the evening rush stretches a drive by about half again. Your own amount depends on the car, your street address and the pickup time, and the car company's written fare names it before you say yes. On a snow or ice morning the company may ask to move the pickup earlier, and the fixed rate you accepted stays the same.

South of the Missouri River every route reaches the airport over one of five bridges, while the Northland crosses no river at all. The from figure is the same in every week of the year, and the written fare tells you if the company's rate differs on a holiday date. There is no fixed count of days for writing in, and a request sent later still gets a plain reply about whether a company has a car. When writing early helps the office find an available car:

  • In an ordinary week, as soon as you know your flight
  • Around Thanksgiving, a week or two ahead
  • In the weeks of Christmas and New Year, a week or two ahead
  • During the spring school breaks, a week or two ahead

Paying the company that drives you

You pay the car company named on the written fare, for the ride and for any extra line you accepted, and that company hands you the receipt. The office never asks for a card number, whether on the form, by email or on the phone. The office is paid by the company, a set amount for each ride it passes on, and sending a request costs you nothing.

A free quote carries no obligation. It arrives by email with the company's fixed rate for your place, date and car, and you can accept it, ask about a line, or let it lapse without owing anyone. When a figure in the table suits you, you can book your airport ride to MCI from the reservation page, and the page on private sedan and SUV airport transfers to MCI explains how many passengers and bags each car takes.

Your written fare next

From a starting figure to your amount

A figure in the table shows where a fare starts; the written fare shows your ride's own amount. Send the place, date and car, and a written answer, the fare or a plain note that no car is free, comes back by email within two hours while the phone is open, or otherwise by 10 a.m. the next morning, weekends included. The form takes requests 24/7.

Free quote, no obligation: the car company's fixed rate comes back in writing before anything is booked, and no card number is asked for. Sending this asks the office for a written fare from a local car company and, once you say yes, to reserve the ride with that company; nothing is held in your name until that company confirms it to you in writing. Sending accepts the terms of a request and the privacy page.
